Oh Happy Day!!

I GOT TO HOLD ELLA TODAY!! This statement makes me want to run around handing out flowers and balloons. I imagined that this is what it would feel like to carry your baby full term and have the doctor hand you your baby in the delivery rooom. Instead of this feeling, I had to watch my daughter be placed on a ventilator and rolled down the hall to be flown to San Antonio.

In the three weeks that Ella has been here at Methodist we have felt a full range of emotions and I have to say that today has been my favorite emotion. Being a parent for the first time and getting to hold your child in your arms is one for the record books. Let it be known that Christy Jeson got to hold her daughter today and will never be the same again.

Christy,
You look great with your daughter. She is so tiny. Seeing her in the crook of your arm really puts it into perspective how tiny she is!! I am so happy for you. There is nothing like holding your child for the first time!! Keep strong. We think of you guys often and are in our prayers.

When I read your comment I was overwhelmed with joy! I can't even comprehend the feeling you must have felt today, but it must have been a moment you've dreamed about your whole life! Today, a dream came true for you, and I'm so thrilled that God has blessed you in such an awesome way with such an amazing and beautiful little girl! Prayer is and will continue to be her strength. Praise God for His blessings! Hope to see you soon! We love you!

Christy,

I cried when I saw the pictures...knowing the joy a mother has when she holds her baby - I know how you felt that way. And she is truly an incredibly beautiful little girl, I bet she'll sing just like you.

Know I'm continually praying that God will give you the strength and the grace to take in stride each new day that you come upon. (I don't know if you knew that Will and I had our second baby girl and she has Down Syndrome - so I know the power that prayer can have on someone that has a special needs child. Just know that GOD IS WORKING!!!!) Love ya'll and am praying!
